George Romero cameo in Silence of the Lambs

I was watching it tonight and saw him. I can't believe I never noticed it before, but here he is. The scene is when Lecter is in Memphis in the cage and Clarice reveals her lambs story. Chilton comes with some men and takes her away. Pretty cool I think. I was watching the documentary afterward and it turns out it was mostly filmed in Pittsburgh, so that explains it.

I never noticed it, either... Mainly because each time I've seen the film, I'm distracted by how the setting is so not Memphis. (The justice building downtown looks nothing like that inside.)

Re: George Romero cameo in Silence of the Lambs

I remember seeing the film in the theater and saying to my mother next to me, "Hey, isn't that George Romero?!?!" I just assumed I was nuts until I heard later that he did indeed have a cameo in the film.

You know, i hate to say, but I've always known this...

Another Romero link is David Early who play's the TV interviewer guy at the start of the original Dawn of the Dead, plays a swat team member in Silence, can't quite remember where in the movie this is, near the end I think - where there's a swat team obviously!

Roger Corman is in SILENCE, too, ya know! He's the head of the FBI...

I think Demme usually gives Corman cameos in all his films. I saw him in the remake of The Manchurian Candidate. Corman helped give him his start, like he did with so many other now notable filmmakers.
