Cartoon Porn

I'm sure we've all seen the hysterical drawings/gif clips of animated porn containing characters from famous cartoons. It's not difficult to stumble onto porno-fied versions of The Jetsons or The Simpsons, but my question is, are there any laws that govern this? What about as far as hentai/anime is concerned? i.e., Is it legal to characterize a living person into a drawing/animation and place that person into a sexual act?

I think the Burroughs estate did sue to keep SHAME OF THE JUNGLE out of theaters in the 1970s.

Of course, Disney and Warner Brothers have had their issues in the past, do these laws still exist today?

In the 1970's, there were several XXX theatrical cartoons. Dave Friedman even produced one of them called Sex in the Comics, which played at Pussycat theaters. (I also recall another one called The Erotic Cartoon Festival, which was a collection of XXX cartoon shorts.)

"Sex in the Comics" was live action (Actors with weird make up to make them look like famous cartoon characters) and inadvertantly creepy as HELL.

I remember seeing a VHS box for "Sex in the Comics" at a video store in St. Louis, Mo. The picture of the actors on the box in cartoon costumes was just too bizarre to rent.

It could possibly fall under "parody" (the way Weird Al can get away with using other people's songs, The Onion can use real people, companies, and products in their paper, etc). I would guess Disney, The Simpsons, etc, would probably not go after someone using their © images in porno cartoons, as it would just attract more attention to them. Only in Japan will XXX cartoons of famous cartoons ever me a multi million dollar business (and therefore worthwhile for the © holder to go after the offenders).

What about laws concering certain forms of hentai/anime? Are there any limits to what can be drawn, 3D'ed, and virtualized, or would the argument there be infringment on freedom of expression? Actually, is cartoon porn even considered "pornography?"

I don't know but it looks awesome. There's a similar scene in Urotsukidoji III, where a dude with a metal dick forces girls to suck it till he cums then the head of his dick fans out to a set of blades and explodes her head.

Like nearly every other form of pornography, X rated cartoons fall under the "probably ok, unless it has to do with children" rule. This is becoming a legal issue, not only for traditional cartoons, but for highly realistic digital renderings of "children" for the sake of creating "victimless" child porn. Japan already produces a huge about of hentai product with underage looking girls, which, as shown below, can be considered a crime to possess in the US.
