Michele Soavi's ARRIVEDERCI AMORE, CIAO

after seeing again on the big screen the very good "Arrivederci amore,ciao",here's my Soavi top list! :

1: DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE (with THE STENDHAL SYNDROME,the best italian horror film of the 90's!)

2: ARRIVEDERCI AMORE,CIAO (one of the best thrillers of these last years!
clever,dark,violent,stylish,hopeless!!)

3: STAGE FRIGHT (a very good first film...the screenplay is generic and the acting is very average,but there are lots of nice visuals and energy in there!)

4: THE SECT (a bit uneven but nice visuals as usual and a fine performance from Kelly Curtis)

5: THE CHURCH (i must see this again but i remember that the pace was very uneven...)

Damn! I was stupid enough not to catch this when it played at theaters in my country. It wasn't a hit so it only played in Greece for a week. When I was about to go watch it I learned the screenings had stopped. I just hate missing it because I never get to watch movies I like (specially Euro-cult ones) at theaters...

the french dvd is available!
it has french and italian tracks,with french subtitles!
the Soavi's interview (25 minutes) is interesting,but i haven't watched yet the deleted scenes.
a great "film noir"!

Well look what i found when i was surfing over EthaiCD their website, seems thailand is the first country to release an english friendly version of Soavi's newest movie "Arrivederci Amore, Ciao". Of course i immediately ordered a copy for myself.

I've received my parcel yesterday Andras and i already threw the envelope in which it came away so i couldn't tell ya to be honest, sorry. Maybe you could shoot a quick email to the people at Ethai and ask them ? I also saw that xploited cinema is stocking the thai DVD release now.

Be careful with those Thai DVDs tho! A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Hong Kong Cat III flick DEVIL OF RAPE (which is oop on HK vcd) on Thai VCD from EthaiCD - and the nudity is censored! I mean what's the point in putting out a Cat III film and then censoring the stuff that makes it Cat III!!

Well that's quite common for Eastern movie productions to censor nudity, although this is lesson common when it comes to foreign movies, although it does occasionally happen. But my thai DVD is uncensored/unfogged and there's quite some nudity (titties) in "Arriverderci Amore Ciao".
